Unfortunately, cancer is very common in pets. Statistics show hundreds of thousands of dogs and cats are diagnosed each year. But thanks to advanced veterinary medicine, many of these animals survive and continue to have a wonderful quality of life.
Kindness Small Animal Hospital will consult with you regarding your pet’s diagnosis and provide the first line of treatment for your pet. If necessary, we will recommend a referral, so that your pet will receive the best treatment available.
Kindness Small Animal Hospital also boasts a modern surgical suite. All pets scheduled for a procedure receive a pre-surgical examination and bloodwork. We place an IV catheter into each patient for additional safety. We ask that pets scheduled for surgery be left at the hospital by 8:30 am. For routine surgeries, most pets can be picked up later the same afternoon.
Prior to your pet’s surgical procedure, we will give you a list of pre-surgical instructions, including when to withhold food prior to surgery. At Kindness Small Animal Hospital, we take pain management seriously by providing pets with pre- and post-surgical pain prevention.
Should your pet require a procedure we do not perform, we can refer you to specialists in that area. If you would like a second opinion on any procedure or diagnosis, we would be happy to refer you to one of our colleagues.
